This lesson consisted in a creative writing exercise, which was used to bring together some of the main vocabulary and grammar aspects of a new chapter. The students had 40 minutes to write a minimum of 100 words. The activity was individual, and it was used as a non-graded formative assessment of the degree to which the new grammar aspects and vocabulary had been acquired. The students had already used these aspects a number of times on a lower taxonomical level. This was the first time that they were asked to apply their new knowledge in a more creative task. The feedback given aimed at giving them some tools to improve their writing.
